This 32mm CB Battcar system from Harken with 14mm stud, along with full-length battens, takes a lot of the difficulty out of raising, dousing and reefing. It acts as an additional crew member on your boat, ideal for when you’re a little shorthanded on the water.
Battcar systems are cheaper than in-mast or in-boom furling, and don’t require you to recut your sail to use them.
The manufacturing process for these deckgear devices adds hardcoat-anodized aluminum cars, which slide on low-friction plastic inserts.
The compact car size translates into reduced weight and stack height.
