It is advisable to carry a spare water pump impeller as they can go at any time. Luckily it’s a relatively easy job to replace, as long as you have a spare!
The Johnson 09-1028B-1 impeller and gasket kit includes an MC97 impeller (suitable for pumping cooling water), the impeller features a spline drive and eight blades. The impeller kit also includes popular pump faceplate paper rubber o-rings, and a sachet of impeller lubricant to aid the replacement of your old engine water pump impeller.
